VP TRAINING: RAJESH DHAR (HE/HIM)
Rajesh’s role as VP Training is to host weekly lectures and seminars.
Rajesh is a pessimistic contrarian that never sleeps. He is a 3rd Year Electrical Engineering student. Allegedly, the plague of public discourse started in a 3rd grade science fair and slowly trickled to MUNs a few years later. Fortunately (for better or worse), he switched over to the art of intellectual squabbling (debate) and never looked back. However, his performance was considered abysmal in comparison to his two prodigy ordained teammates. As such, his return to debating in university was marked as a redemption arc. Historically, this enigma of a human being was addicted to reading research papers and pop science but nowadays spends his time listening to debate recordings and watching whatever YT Shorts the AI overlords throw in his direction.
To him, debate is a sport as there is always something you could say from the other side to win. However, he urges everyone to find their "reason to debate" whether that be self improvement, political advocacy, intellectual supremacy, legal deliberation, competition, fun and friends or even past trauma.
When not debating, you’ll probably find him in his late night escapades hunting for the Northern Lights (or in his room).
He is the reigning Air Hockey champion of U of A (residence) since 2022.
He has a bad habit of hoarding random stuff.
He slept overnight on a bench outside a church in Banff this one time.
His favorite speaker position... Closing Opposition.
