First Year - Bachelors of Science in Computer Science Honours
What’s one thing you’re incredibly passionate about?
In no particular order: Debate, Space, Basketball, Reading.
How long have you been debating for?
1 year.
What led you to try debate for the first time?
I was always a Public Speaker and used to do Model UN. Seeing that there wasn’t a competitive Model UN club at the U of A made me explore debate as an option and frankly, best decision ever.
What do you love most about UADS?
The comradery and the closeness that has evolved. Most of the people are novices but now we have grown close as friends and grown past than just debate.
What’s one of your favourite UADS memories?
Pacific Cup after day 1 Party was really fun. So was defeating Ken, Ben, Jacob, Lochlann, Emilie, and Sasha in a feminism motion.
Using one word, what’s a topic you could forever debate about?
Space.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to new debaters?
You’re held over the Darvaza gas crater and will only be safely released if you can sing all the lyrics to a song correctly. What is that song?

The moment my family got the news that our Permanent Residency application has been approved in Canada
